Contemplations
As regular readers know, I like to both quote people and opine on these quotations. This week I am going to do something a bit different. I have four pieces of wisdom for you to contemplate without any help from me.
I found these in the pile of things I set aside that may wind up as or in a missive. Upon reading them, I decided that some ideas would be better left to self-reflection than my analysis. So take a bit of time to contemplate these thoughts and develop your own understanding of the wisdom they hold.
“Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character. But if you must be without one, be without the strategy.”– General Norman Schwarzkopf
“You cannot truly listen to anyone and do something else at the same time.”– Psychiatrist Scott Peck
“Success comes from designing the experience, not the hotel. And always remembering that everything is important. Everything.” –Hotel owner speaking at the Independent Lodging Congress.
“At the trail head it takes eight hours to hike to the other end. At the middle it takes three hours to hike to either end. All are true.” Tom and Ray Magliozzi.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
Who knows, you might wind up as a guest philosopher.
