…and instead of spending the next minute or two reading my thoughts on business success and thinking about it, enjoy the last few days of August. Enough with deep thoughts until September. Give your brain…and the rest of you…a break. Goof off for a day or two, or five. Start the last third of the year energized and ready to soar to new heights.
Take a Break…

Steve your comment is excellent – the hard part is retraining folks on how to actually turn things off. As i looked at my phone on sunday night and had a call from a client who just wanted to get things ready for monday – sorry unless it is an emergency – no one will die – I am not going to answer your call Sunday night.
How do you relax and turn things off?
Thanks for the nice comment Rick. As for what I do, I just ignore everything except emergencies…which are rare…while taking long hikes with mobile turned off, or flying off to Whidbey Island for a few days, or just hanging around the house doing nothing in particular. It’s not so much what you do as that what you do gives you an opportunity to go off and just take a break from the normal craziness of instant everything.
The best thing about this is how while thinking about nothing in particular you often get your best ideas…which I do right down so they don’t disappear. Clarity breaks really do lead to better everything.
Thank you Mr. Authority Figure. I think I’ll take an hour or two off this morning – especially after yesterday’s full schedule and before tomorrow’s packed schedule. Time for a cup of tea.
Thanks for the comment Tom. It reminded me that often a short clarity break for a cup of tea or a walk around the block can clear the cobwebs from your mind and lead to that next breakthrough. Long or short, taking some time to let your mind relax is never without benefit.
